Ah the start of a new year! It brings so much hope with it. I know we are all super busy all the time but the beginning of a new year is the perfect time to bounce into something new. Many of us are deciding on our resolutions and things we want to accomplish in the new year, like losing weight, getting healthier, saving money, etc. These are all great resolutions but they are a bit vague don’t you think? It is easy to lose sight of the goal a month or two into it. I read it’s better to set more precise goals like, “I want to lose 20lbs, or I want to save $1k, or I will eat veggies at every meal.” Something like this is more tangible and realistic for us all. When we set a goal with wide parameters it can get discouraging, very quickly, when we don’t see results immediately. For example, if you want to lose a certain amount of weight it’s more motivating to subtract pounds from the total goal then to see only a couple pounds gone every few weeks. This was definitely a struggle for me this past year. I have put on a few holiday pounds and am ready to get myself back on track. I set a goal for myself and every week when I weigh in, I will subtract what I have lost. I know this will keep me motivated and it will help me see how close I am getting to my goal. I am also planning to save money this year for a vacation this summer, so I’m going to use a super simple money saver plan. I have added links below to help you start out your new year the right way and to help you stay on task with your resolutions.
