Picnics and Summer…
Happy Friday!! I am so glad it’s the weekend! This has been such a crazy, long week. I have been working super long days but it’s all over and the weekend is here! Summer is also officially here! There are lots of fun things happening this weekend. To get a sneak peak you need to follow along on snapchat (ilona-shabovta)! Some of my favorite summer things are beach days and picnics in the park, with rosé of course. This past Saturday was actually International Picnic Day, (I swear they are just making up new holidays now), and I had the pleasure of attending an event in DUMBO, Brooklyn for Maison Jules.
I have always been a fan of the clothing line, I mean it’s French inspired, how could I not be?! The clothes are seriously so cute and preppy and French. So of course when I saw the invite for the event I responded immediately that I would be attending. So absolutely head over to Macy’s (where they sell the line exclusively), and pick out a few items from the collection. Here are some of my favorites including this dress I wore to the event. This gingham top will be perfect for all summer events, along with this dress, this nautical inspired dress which is perfect for beach or BBQ days, and this skirt.
It turned out to be the perfect day for this event. It was so much fun and the picnic setup was so adorable! They had blankets, hula hoops, and pillows setup for everyone, along with baskets filled with goodies. Even hubby got in on the hula hoop fun. 🙂 It was one of those perfect Saturdays, sitting in the park, having a picnic, hanging out with friends. I highly recommend doing this at least once this summer in any park near you! A few of my favorite spots in the city are Central Park (obviously), Fort Tryon, Madison Square Park, Governors’ Island, Main St Park and Prospect Park in Brooklyn. If you are in Jersey, you should definitely check out Brookdale Park, Verona Park, or Palisades Park (great place for a BBQ) right under the GWB.
P.S. Also I will be making a picnic post soon with some great recipe ideas so keep an eye out 😉
*We even did some yoga!
