Melon Melon…
Oh hello Friday!! I’ve been waiting all week long. This week has been so super busy!! December is always a busy month but even more so this year. I have added more work to my plate (I’m nuts, yes I know) but I love staying busy. Idle hands are the Devil’s workshop apparently lol. Anyone else heard of this saying when they were kids? There are also a lot of fun events coming up that I’m super excited about. I still can’t believe it’s really December. Did you know this is my favorite month? So many fun things are happening!! Christmas, NYE, Holiday Parties, and my birthday. Also I will be hosting several get togethers this month, which makes today’s drink recipe all the more perfect.
I know melon is in season during the summer but you can get it all year round. Check your local store, I’m sure you will find it. 😉 I love how versatile this fruit can be. It’s delicious paired with cheese and prosciutto, in salads, desserts, and drinks too!! It gives it a really nice sweetness without being overkill. Trust me you can drink several of these babies. I sure did when I made them haha! Plus how cute are these little melon balls?? They are super easy to make, so don’t be scared. The drink feels very appropriate for the season with the addition of prosecco. Bubbly always makes things seem even more festive. My favorite is Lamarca. It tastes great and the price point can’t be beat for the quality. I hope you serve this at your next event! Everyone will be asking for the recipe at the end of the day. 🙂
Ingredients
- 1 bottle chilled Prosecco
- 1 ripe melon
- Mint leaves
- 1 whole lime juiced (about 1/2 a cup)
- 1/2 cup of the juice from the melon. The juice will produce as you start to make the balls
- 4oz St-Germain
- 1 round scoop
- 1 lime sliced into circles
Directions
- Cut the melon in half and scoop out the seeds
- Using the scoop, make the balls by scooping out of the melon long the sides
- Add some of the melon balls to a tall glass
- Divide the melon juice and lime juice into the four glasses
- Add in 1oz of St-Germain to each glass
- Pour in the Prosecco
- Garnish with lime slices and mint leaves
- Add ice and enjoy!
*Serves 4ppl. The directions are for each individual drink
