I won’t lie when I tell you it was brutally cold when these photos were taken during NYFW. Layering up pieces is so essential during this crazy up and down weather. I had to have something that would look good but still keep me warm. This pink tweed jacket has been in my closet for a couple years now and it was the perfect item. It has a great structure to it and I love the black trim down the front. It has that tuxedo vibe to it and the pink is such a nice, soft color. It also happened to be valentine’s weekend so the pink was necessary. The best part about this blazer though, is that it’s lined and super warm. The blazer can look super formal, so to break it up I paired my favorite distressed jeans from Express. A comfy pair of black ankle boots are a necessity in this city and they always look good. That is something to invest in if you haven’t yet. I have been wearing this pair for two years now and they still look like new. Dolce Vita is one of my favorite brands for shoes in general. They are good quality and always a good price point too. All I needed to make this out more fashion week worthy was a killer statement necklace. I have been eyeing one from Dylanlex but just couldn’t cough up that kind of money for it (crazy prices! there are so many other great options that won’t break your wallet). Then I saw this one from Applee Jewelry and instantly knew I had to have it. The owner is super nice and she gets back to you really quickly. I love the way this looked with my outfit and I received so many compliments on it. I kept the rest of the jewelry simple since the necklace is such a big piece. A great statement necklace takes any outfit from simple to wow so easily. It’s one of my favorite things to add to any outfit.
