This was a very busy week for me! A lot of fun things to get ready for including the 9th Annual Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governors Island. It was so much fun! I love everything about the 1920s era…the music, fashion, and the parties. It definitely was an era of dapper men, jazz, and the flapper girl. When you stepped off the ferry, you feel as if you went back in time to 1920 and good ole Gatsby will be right around the corner. One of my favorite parts is dressing up for it! It’s like being a little kid again…except with cocktails which were all sponsored by St. Germain. Delicious!
It was a perfect summer day spent outside dancing the Charleston, enjoying The Michael Arenella & Dreamland Orchestra, watching performances by The Dreamland Follies and Canarsie Wobblers, and of course eyeing all of the gorgeous outfits. The clothes from this age are just beautiful with all the beading, sequencing, gorgeous headpieces, and PEARLS!!! I am already planning out the outfits for hubby and I next year!
