When life gives you a bunch of plums you make…umm….seriously what do you make?? You make a tart 🙂
I had a bunch of plums and pluots (hybrid fruit) sitting in my fridge just waiting to go bad so I decided I should make something and not waste them like so much fruit has been in my house lately. My little brother has also been visiting for the last 2 weeks and he has been begging me to make something sweet so this was the perfect option. This tart was so delicious OMG! The hardest part of it was slicing the fruit, which is really not hard at all lol. It is a great dessert or breakfast option too since it is not super sweet. We all had it for breakfast with tea…soooo good! This is the first time I made it and there were no complaints. My brother and hubby devoured it. Like no left-overs. I will be making it again for sure and will bring it to the next BBQ I attend as a nice little change to the usual bbq food and seriously it is so pretty!
Recipe is as follows below 🙂 Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 4-5 plums and/or pluots
- 1/3 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ginger
- 1 tablespoon of corn starch
- 1 roll out pie crust
- 1 9in tart pan with removable bottom
Directions:
- Pit and thinly slice the plums/pluots. Toss with the 1/3 cup of sugar, ginger, and corn starch.
- Roll out the pie crust into the tart pan and press into the edges for the crust.
- Lay the slices of plums/pluot in concentric circles.
- Bake for 25min at 425
- Let cool for 10mins and enjoy! Add a scoop of vanilla for a really delicious treat 😉
