But first, Brunch…
So this weekend is Valentine’s Day. I’m still having a hard time believing we are half-way through February already. Typically we do not do much for this “holiday” but since Dimitri is a little older now I thought it would be nice to do something special. I love making quiche for brunch and during the week because it really is easy to make and filling too. I added Prosciutto di Parma and Grana Padano cheese into this one and let me tell you, wow. The flavors were amazing. This was my first time trying and cooking with Grana Padano Cheese and it really has so much flavor. I will definitely buy this again. This cheese is part of the Icons of European Taste and I am so happy to have partnered with them on the project to educate people about these special products.
WHAT IS ICONS OF EUROPEAN TASTE?
Icons of European Taste is a three year campaign in the U.S. and Canada funded by the European Union to promote Prosciutto di Parma, Prosciutto di San Daniele, and Grana Padano. The goal is to educate consumers, retailers and chefs about why these products are so special, how to differentiate them from imitators and about the PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) system.
The products are simply delicious and perfectly made. You really can taste a difference between these and a more generic brand. So for this weekend we are going to have a nice big brunch and I plan on having Dimitri help out with making it since he has been so interested with cooking and then later have some heart shaped pizza topped with Prosciutto di Parma. Have a lovely weekend everyone <3
